Pour notre stop-over de 10 jours (nous sommes des petits malins, pardi), nous avons opté pour un hôtel qui offrait une formule tout compris, boissons et snacks inclus, ce qui avec un poupon nous convenait bien. La plage de Trou aux Biches est à deux pas et c’était un régal d’observer Etienne s’amuser au bord de l’eau, fesses à l’air et crémé de la tête aux pieds. On avait aussi un t-shirt à manches longues étudié spécialement pour l’eau, ainsi qu’un chapeau protection 50+ et un super maillot-couche pour la piscine. Habitant en Australie et avec le soleil nocif de par ici, on a l’habitude de bien se protéger des gros vilains UVA.
As we had planned a 10-day stop-over on our way back to Melbourne (we are a clever bunch, aren’t we), we chose a hotel with an all-inclusive package, drinks and snacks included, which suited us better since we were with our bundle of joy. The beach at Trou aux Biches was really close by, and watching Etienne play by the water, butt naked and covered in sunblock, was a delight. We had also brought a long-sleeved shirt designed for the water, along with a sun hat (protection 50+) and a swim-nappy for the pool. Since we reside in Australia and the sun here is so dangerous, we are used to protecting our skin from nasty UVAs.
L’hôtel Le Palmiste était très bien, le service impeccable et la nourriture abondante et variée. On a rencontré un jeune couple de Français très sympas, Nathalie et Thomas, qui se plairaient sûrement down under car ils ont déjà la laid back attitude et le côté cool aussie.
The Palmiste Hotel was great, with a high level of service and diverse, plentiful food. We met a really nice young French couple, Nathalie and Thomas, who we thought would enjoy living down under, as they already had the laid back, cool Aussie attitude.
Etienne a su y faire auprès du personnel et de toute personne se trouvant dans un rayon de 20 mètres, et avait son fan-club établi pendant le séjour, ce qui le ravissait totalement. Être le centre d’attention en continu, quel plan de rêve pour un tout-petit…
Etienne had the knack when it came to charming the staff and anyone in a 20-meter radius. He had an established fan club during our stay, which totally deligthed him. Continuously being the centre of attention is a dream come true for a toddler…
On a eu beau temps tout le temps ou presque, et comme d’habitude, c’était dur-dur de partir, car entre l’Ile Maurice et Zazou, c’est une belle histoire d’amour qui remonte à une vingtaine d’années déjà… on ne rajeunit pas !
The weather was perfect for most of our time there and, as usual, leaving was hard, as there is a long-lasting (over 20 years, ouch), beautiful love story between Mauritius and Zazou!
