L’année 2009 touche à sa fin et Pascal, Etienne et moi vous souhaitons un très joyeux Noël !

Cette année a été riche en événements : Etienne est à la crèche trois jours par semaine et s’y plaît beaucoup, nous recevons d’ailleurs un e-mail tous les jours (avec photos) pour nous dire ce qui s’est passé pendant la journée, ce que les enfants ont mangé, etc. Pascal a changé de travail et adore jouer au papa poule dès qu’il rentre à la maison. Pour ma part, j’ai acheté une voiture avant de reprendre le travail en janvier. Je donne des cours de français à des ados et des adultes et le bouche-à-oreille fait que je suis très occupée ! J’organise aussi un playgroup francophone deux fois par mois, plus certains week-ends.

Autre fait marquant de 2009 : en septembre, nous avons passé (et réussi à 100% !) le test de citoyenneté australien qui nous permet d’obtenir le fameux passeport, ce qui laisse plus de liberté de mouvement. Le plus dur pour faire les papiers a été d’obtenir une photo de passeport pour monsieur Etienne qui est en plein dans la phase de « Terrible Two »… Il faut dire qu’il a déjà deux ans et deux mois ;-)

Nous avons été comblés cette année car nous avons reçu la visite d’Isa O et de maman, et cela nous fait toujours un immense plaisir de revoir les amis (et la famille) au bout du monde, down under… bientôt cinq ans que nous sommes à Melbourne !

Enfin, nous avons une merveilleuse nouvelle à vous annoncer : notre Etienne va avoir un petit frère ou une petite sœur prévu(e) pour le 1er juin 2010 ! Nous sommes évidemment ravis et la maman est contente car elle a prévu d’accoucher dans l’eau.

2009 is coming to an end and Pascal, Etienne and I wish you a very Merry Christmas!

This year was very busy and fulfilling. Etienne started going to crèche 3 days a week in January and loves it. We are really lucky, as we receive an email every day (with pictures attached!) detailing what the children did, ate, and so on, during the day. Superdad Pascal changed jobs a few months ago and loves nothing more than coming home to hang out with his son. As for yours truly: I bought a car before I started working again in January. I teach French mostly to teenagers (14 to 18yo), and have adult classes as well. Word of mouth has made me a very busy bee! I also run a French playgroup twice a month, and some weekends.

Another big piece of news this year: we passed our Australian Citizenship Test in September with a perfect 100% result, which means we soon should receive a passport and more freedom of movement. The toughest thing to get in order to send the paperwork will have been to take a picture of our crazy toddler (in full-on “Terrible Two” phase), who is now 2 years and 2 months of age.

We were blessed this year with overseas visits from my friend Isa O and my beloved mother. It is always a delight to see family and friends this far away from everything, down under… By the way, next February, we will celebrate 5 years in Melbourne already!

Finally, we have wonderful news to share with you this Christmas: our Etienne is going to have a little brother or sister around June 1 next year… we are obviously thrilled and mama Isa is happy because she has managed to find a hospital allowing water birth deliveries :-)
